History


Anthea was founded in 1993 by Myriam Perez, a linguist, and Yves Vanneste, a Doctor of Science and holder of a diploma in business management.

In 2000, Anthea received the Ernst & Young Prize for the management of its business approach in the United States, and in the same year obtained ISO-9001 certification.

In April 2001, Anthea's French branch set up in the Sophia Antipolis science park.

From 2002 to 2006: Extension of our capacity in terms of localization, tests and engineering. Several major contracts with large companies were signed. Development and marketing of our on-line translation management system Anthea@TMS.

In January 2006, the French team moved into much larger offices and our Brussels office was opened.

End of 2006: creation of Anthea Languages Canada Inc., and an office opened in Markham, ON, Canada.

Since March 2000 the whole of Anthea's translation and language training activities have been managed according to an ISO-9001 certified Quality Management System.

Anthea Languages exporter of the year.

On 14 November in Belgium Anthea Languages received the Walloon Grand Prix for Exports awarded by the Walloon Export Agency (AWEX).

This prize recognizes the rapid development of the company's international activities over the last three years, and in particular the success of its French subsidiary set up six years ago in the Sophia Antipolis technology park.

Founded in 1993 and a pioneer is the use of internet related technologies and the electronic exchange of documents, Anthea's outlook is firmly oriented to the international markets. Of course this does not prevent the Belgian-French company from working with major companies at home in a variety of high technology sectors.

According to Myriam Perez and Yves Vanneste, founders and directors of the company: "Our financial results show very positive development: we saw an increase in turnover of 145% between 2003 and 2005, the volume of exports being multiplied by three in the same period. Our Sophia Antipolis office enables us to present our customers with a "high tech" business card, completely in-step with their profile: computing, telecommunications, technology, medicine. In 2005 it represented 60% of our overall export turnover. Our rate of growth enables us to envisage joining the leading world translations companies by 2010.
Since the creation of Anthea we have been striving to spread our company values among our international customers based on the attention we pay to our customers, our long-term partnership with them, and the constant development of skills and team working. Our ISO 9001-2000 Certification has recently been renewed for the seventh year running."
